What is it?
This is a monitoring solution for outdoor field assets like machinery, boats on trailers, cable drums, road signs and anything of value that is outdoors and seldom moves. Any movement of the asset is an event and you would be notified.
How does it work?
The motion sensor of the unit watches for all motion and vibration. As soon as it detects one, the unit sends out a message to the Global GPS control centre and we then route it to you. Thereafter the location is sent at preset intervals for as long as the motion lasts. The unit can either be 4xAA alkaline battery powered or 
permanently installed in the equipment.
What is required?
An account with Global GPS and a sim card from a service provider with GPRS or SMS capability.
Where is it supported?
We support tracking globally and installation will be from our qualified technicians.
What are the costs?
One time cost for the GPS hardware. 
Subscription model is also available in Australia, USA, Canada and India.

Use of Wireless Technology -- RFID
Tracking assets is done in different ways. For instance, if you’ve taken a look at a credit card, you’d find a magnetic strip attached to it. An electronic chip and antennas are attached to the objects to give them the unique status. The RFID scanner is able to detect the object even at a long distance, unlike the barcode scanners.
Use of Wireless Technology -- GPS
Yet another technology that is used to detect assets, such as generators, military arsenals, trailers, etc is the real time Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking utility. The same technology is used to detect vehicles and fleet.
This technology was developed by the US Defense in order to use it in military and espionage operations. However, the know-how is no longer restricted to the military. The civilians are allowed to use it to navigate and keep a track of their vehicles or other movable assets.
Based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), the technology is able to track assets quickly and precisely. The 24 satellites that orbit the earth are able to detect the time and distance between them and the object to calculate the exact position of the asset.

Although RFID and GPS have made their way into the asset tracking market, they do not provide a dynamic tracking system. In other words, how would you get a real-time knowledge of the object?
